body of work Workshop 3 - deep listening and conversations

The third Body of Work workshop began, the canvases had lived two full days with other hands and bodies. They were layered with gestures, drips, scratches and holding the echoes of twelve different people who had moved, made, and left their mark. This third group stepped into a conversation already in motion. They started by listening deeply within and without, feeling the pull of an existing line, responding to a brushstroke or following the shadow of a drip. Some marks were embraced and built upon, others resisted or obscured, creating tension and depth. Each choice made the surfaces more intricate, each movement altering the balance between what was visible and what was hidden. By the end of the day, the canvases had grown denser, richer and layered in paint and the quiet interactions between bodies, materials and the stories already present.
