BODY OF WORK WORKSHOP 2 - the layers build.

It was there, in the Butter Factory’s Butter Box space, that Body of Work began to take shape. It became a creative collaboration in process, importantly it grew into a place for connection, through expression and the simple act of making something that doesn’t need to be brought to a particular outcome to be meaningful. Over the next three workshops, each with six new participants, those same canvases became living surfaces. Each group built upon the layers left before them, adding their own movements, colours and gestures. What began as blank space grew into a collective archive, a conversation between strangers who never met but left their marks for one another to find and be with and respond to. It was a somewhat challenging consideration and yet navigated with respect and kindness for self and other.
